SQUALOR!

AnArts Council England funded community theatre project led by Play It Again which took place on the streets of Liskeard in March 2013.

The audience went back in time with us to Liskeard in 1860 and joined us to hunt out the horrible and note down the nuisances as we revealed the realities and presented the perils that made Victorian Liskeard a less than squeaky clean town.  SQUALOR!  was an interactive family show which took us on a journey through the streets of Liskeard as they once were. Created by a cast of community performers, and featuring gruesome gags about the revolting realities of life in Victorian Liskeard, Squalor! told the story of Henry Rice, a Victorian philanthropist and social advocate whose buildings and social improvements to the town still exist today...
